Ministry Opportunities
Gary has a couple of opportunities to talk to some of the young people here. He spoke a The University of Cork to the Christian Student Union, comprising of students from around the world. He was well recieved but a little disapointed that there were not more local Cork or Irish students in attencence.
He also spoke at Cork Baptist to a gathering of teens who were from various churches in town. He spoke to them about how they need to reach out to their friends in a new fresh way and not be caught "in old armour" as he put it. He was told by some of the leaders that the kids loved what they heard and were challenged by it.
Gary has had a few opportunities to meet with some men at the rugby club and get into some conversations about the faith lately, it seems now they know we are going home they are opening up a bit. He has also had the opportunity to meet with a few people that are loosley attached to the church and have not been coming regularly for various reasons. This is good for Gary because this is his passion and allows him to use the gifts God has given him, evagelism and pastoring-discipling.

This is an update to my January 12 blog but please read it to if you have not already. Blessings!

Be encouraged ,Denise and Gary. You are on the right track. For a true disciple there is only one road for you and thats to follow your Lords lead. To be real, none of us know what the heck we're doing most of the time but God knows our heart and to obey and love our creator and fellow stumblers is the only natural way to live. Today you're loving God and Irish people, next summer it may be God and Canucks. So you get to plant seeds all over. Thats pretty cool isn't it. Anyway know that many of your brothers and sisters are with you. To quote a really annoying but endearing icon "We're all in this together". Love, peace & joy, Bill H.

We're both sad for you that things didn't work out the way that you had hoped but excited for you to come home and in awe at your positive spirit in light of the situation. You are modeling Jesus at all times. He is sovereign! I'm sorry for the past comment made by someone who obviously doesn't know you. it sems there is an anonymous coward making heinous, arrogant remarks all over the Summerland blogging world. Unfortunate. Just know that there are infinite more people who love you, care about you, and know where your heart is. :)

You go Swabeys!

It is a new day! There are no hinderances. Walk confidently into your future with Jesus in front of you, behind you and beside you!

You are God's thoughts, God's hopes, God's dreams, God's passion, with skin on.

Jesus knew that He was the message.

And so are you!

You're AWESOME!

(I hope you still have time to read as you did when you were at SBC!!)
